Value of Construction:
Project Description:

Suez Recycling & Recovery Facility, located in Bibra Lake, required building extensions to their existing facility. Buildcom Construction was contracted to extend three areas, the workshop, east shed and a covered area, totalling an area of 2,042m2. During construction the client also requested Buildcom to re-roof an existing shed which was an area of 1,850m2.

Customised Solution:

With the nature of the recycling plant, which in effect, is a 24 hour operation, Buildcom needed to be flexible with hours of construction. All works carried out were done after hours and the majority of construction resumed on the weekend for a 6 month period.

Each of the areas were constructed separately, with traffic management in place for the entire phase, to mitigate any major disruptions with the ongoing operations of the clients.

The extensions were undertaken to be able to house more waste/ recycling waste on the premise. Tilt-up panels and structural steel with zinculume roof sheeting were the major components on the project.

Special Features

  • 2m x 9m x 5m sliding door installed
  • Extensions allowed for more storage space
